The restaurant is pretty small, accommodating only about four tables for four people and one table for six. Our server was very nice and attentive, checking in on us frequently. The food was delicious! I would definitely consider returning, possibly to sit outside or get takeout. I ordered hot cider, which was good, but the mug it came in was a bit dirty (I assumed it had just spilled while being poured). I also tried the eggs Benedict, which I enjoyed, although I wasn’t a fan of the home fries—they had a strange taste that even ketchup couldn't fix. My husband ordered the pulled pork eggs and enjoyed every bite; he mentioned that the potatoes tasted better when mixed with the eggs and pulled pork. Overall, I would have rated this place five stars, but the lack of cleanliness was a big issue for me. Seeing three ants wandering around my plate was unsettling, and it was difficult to enjoy my meal with dead bugs in front of me.
My parents and I decided to have breakfast at Bonnie Blue on the way home after visiting Winchester. We had the most lovely time and our server Charlotte was such a delight to talk to. The other waitress working at the time (sorry I didn't get her name! was also very friendly and welcoming. Between the three of us, we ordered the shrimp and grits, meat omelette and biscuits and gravy. Everything was made like we were sitting in grandma's kitchen, in the best way possible-tasty and very filling. We got some carrot cake and cookies for the drive home. Would come back again and recommend to anyone visiting the area
Incredible experience! I ordered the Crab Cake and Eggs, and it exceeded my expectations. One of my main issues with crab cakes is that they often have too much breading, overshadowing the crab. However, that was not the case here; it was packed with crab, and I absolutely loved it! The breakfast potatoes were seasoned perfectly—I could have eaten them on their own and still left satisfied. The service was excellent as well. I also tried the lemon curd, which is a must-try for anyone who enjoys lemon bars. Overall, great food and great people. You definitely should check this place out!
We just left the restaurant and had an interesting experience! We ordered steak, but unfortunately, they weren't cooked properly. They also forgot to send out my daughter’s meal, although they quickly fixed that. Mistakes happen everywhere, but not every place takes steps to make things right. This restaurant really went above and beyond! They recooked our steaks perfectly, gave all five of us complimentary desserts, and didn't charge for my daughter's fried chicken. They even gave us a nice family discount. On top of that, when we tried to buy some apple cider on our way out, they just offered it to us for free! I've never seen a restaurant make such an effort to rectify issues. The desserts were incredible, and everything else was great too. The manager was incredibly sweet, and our server did a fantastic job, especially considering they were new. I can’t recommend this place highly enough for the courteous way they handled everything. We'll definitely be returning!
This is a fantastic locally owned diner that far surpasses any chain restaurant. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making for a pleasant dining experience. The food is outstanding, especially considering the prices. It’s refreshing to discover local establishments that embrace their unique character instead of conforming to a corporate model.
