The Silk Mercer - Wiltshire

We stopped by for breakfast with our grandchildren on our way back home after a week in the area. We were able to find an empty booth in the downstairs seating area and the service was quick, both when ordering at the bar and when our food arrived at the table. The food was cooked well and at a reasonable price. The restroom is located upstairs, and we found the large men's room to be clean. It was a bit frustrating to see a female customer wearing what appeared to be painting overalls hogging the hot drinks station and taking coffee sachets and tea bags. There are time-limited parking spaces nearby, or you can opt to pay for parking.

We stopped by this restaurant after a long day of cycling to fill up on some hearty food. We were pleased with the quick service and clean, welcoming atmosphere of the pub. We had a satisfying meal and drinks for less than £20 for the two of us. We will definitely be returning when we are in Devizes on our cycling trips.

We stopped by on a Sunday evening while we were in Devizes. They had a good selection of reasonably priced beers, ciders, and wines available. We tried some small plate snacks that were really delicious. The place was quite busy, as most other pubs in Devizes close early on Sunday night, but there was a nice atmosphere and the service was quick. I would definitely recommend a visit.

The best steak and kidney pudding I have had in years, easily the best meal I have ever had at a Wetherspoons (and I have had quite a few) well done chefs! The pic speaks volumes

Staff were efficient and polite but the food, an American cheese burger served with a VERY small portion of chips, was pretty mediocre and the beer was flat and warm, but it the portion size that was the most disappointing, and I could have eaten 3 of these servings and I'm an average size guy, and there wasn't even any salad or anything. The plate looked a bit bare to be honest, it was more like a childs meal.
