Bidrage med feedbackTwo members of our group had arranged lunch in advance. The café is located in a section of the large old shearing shed, filled with photos and memorabilia from the past. It is worth exploring if you have the time. Our meal was served in the old shearers' quarters, at a table brimming with character. We had a choice of steak, lamb, or chicken with salad and vegetables. When the food was ready, we were called into the kitchen to help ourselves. Some in our group felt that a dessert should have been offered, but the staff managed to find some ice cream for those who wanted it. Sarah and Joe are new to this venture, and we were their first customers. Overall, we had a positive experience and wish them success in their new business. The area is also a great place for a 4WD adventure, not too extreme but still interesting. As a bonus, we were able to watch Joe as he cleaned and checked the sheep's water troughs.
After enjoying a one-hour camel ride, we returned to the cafe for a cup of tea and a chat with the owner, who is a character. The displays are interesting and definitely worth taking the time to explore. The tea was delightful and the cakes looked tempting, but we were headed for lunch so we didn't partake. If you find yourself in the northern end of the Flinders Ranges, this cafe is definitely worth a visit.

Stopped here for a bite to eat. The pies were delicious and homemade. The restaurant was very quaint and there was quite a lot to see as memorabilia and shearing shed history was on display. The owners daughter was very friendly and welcoming. Recommend this as a place to stop and refresh when traveling or exploring this area.
We loved the saltbush lamb roast cooked to perfection and not to mention the company of the owners and working staff , very pleasant night
