Popped in to this pub on way to wrighyham hospital due to missing bus staff warm really welcome considering not from the area

No frills just great beers and other drinks at very keen prices. Staff friendly, helpful and extremely efficient. Recommended.

I know this pub extremely well. A few years ago it was the only pub in the centre where you could guarantee a good range of quality beers. In the last few years numerous real ale pubs have appeared on their doorstep who, to be honest, are doing a far better job. It seems to be surviving purely on reputation and location, rather than innovation. Sad to see its decline.

Great pub in the day or evening with lots of colourful characters to keep you entertained . Great ale reasonable price . Always have a pint when in town

Excellent pub with a big variety of guns, real ales and ciders etc. A proper pub full of adults, no kids! Some of these bad reviews are shocking, especially the lady who says it's shocking you can't take kids in when it's 2019.. why would you want to take children into a pub that doesn't serve food? That's just bad parenting if you ask me!! Also, the other guy, Stu, after checking his profile obviously just enjoys leaving bad reviews for all businesses! Grow up and get yourself a good pint of ale in the Anvil :
