Off The Rails Cafe - Wigan

Great coffee and snacks and currently offering sushi for collection on certain evenings. NOTE: this is not a cafe, as such, so don't do what some have done and arrange to meet your friends here. But to grab a proper coffee or a freshly made bacon sarny, it's cracking.

I love my visits to Off the Rails when traveling from Kemble. Lovely freshly made coffee and a sausage sandwich to die for (with brown sauce.... . Always a friendly word and a smile from the staff too. They have now started to sell some lovely wines too for on or off train consumption. I was tempted but it was still early morning! Maybe next time when on a fun trip somewhere. A lovely little station cafe in the old world style but with new world goods. Highly recommended.

Station Cafes are generally pretty dull and uninspiring and apart from a cup of pretty dismal tea and a stale bun there is little to commend them . But wow there in Kemble Station is a Cafe with style and character that is manned by a highly colourful and very attentive owner : a Cafe that has an imaginative range of Teas and Coffees , that has a highly tempting range of cookies and cakes not to mention a wicked choice of biscuits and crisps and other very tempting and very yummy things that I can’t describe !! Kemble Station has great character and personality and The Cafe has that magic that endears yourself to the whole place and if the train is late !! Who cares as you can spoil yourself rotten in the Cafe and I certainly did!!!!

I love this charming café. The staff are friendly, and the food and drinks are much better than what you would typically find at a train station. The bacon and sausage sandwiches are absolutely delicious and irresistible!

This train station is a hidden gem, with friendly and attentive staff at the ticket office. But the real treasure is the Cafe, offering delicious food, drinks, and service from charming ladies. The bacon sandwiches are excellent, and they also have a great selection of cakes and wines. It's worth taking advantage of the free parking for 20 minutes to enjoy a meal and a delicious coffee, then relax in the beautiful garden surrounded by Rosemary bushes in the sunshine. After an experience like that, who would want to travel by train anywhere else? Especially in the heart of the stunning Cotswolds! Perfect!
