Food review as of 23.OCT.21 (taste changes depending on the chef's daily condition). Order details: Tangjjjam set seafood jjamppong. Chunjang: Slightly bland than Korean Chunjang. Noodles: The noodles were cooked well this time. Jjajang: The ingredients are small in size (foreigners seem to look for thicker ingredients). When it cools, it becomes slightly salty. Jjamppong: The aroma is more subtle than that of the nearby Chinese restaurants, which emphasize the strong aroma by using fire-scented mussels and mussels in their shells. This place uses peeled mussels. Seafood such as squid had no odor. Sweet and sour pork: It comes as a side dish. Other places emphasize the crunchiness of vegetables by adding raw vegetables to the sauce, but here, it seems like they boil them together in advance? Overall review: Close to the taste of an old Chinese restaurant from the 90s to early 2000s. It's less salty and spicy than recent fusion Chinese restaurants. Rather, it is a relatively subtle scent of fire and ingredients. I recommend this to seniors who find the strong spicy taste burdensome and to those who want to show their children the taste of Chinese food from their father's childhood. Personally, I have high blood pressure, so I eat it rather blandly. That's why I don't eat a whole bowl of jjamppong soup, but this one was a little less salty and the flavor was relatively mild, so I finished the whole bowl. On the other hand, if you give a negative evaluation, the chef may be hesitant because he is new and is trying to find his taste, right? I hope you can enjoy the unique taste of this place soon. I ate well. May you prosper.
I received an invitation from a friend to try out a Chinese food joint. Eager to delve into some Korean soul food, I decided on Jjajangmyun 짜장면 and specifically went for the seafood variation the Three Seafood Jjajangmyun 삼선간짜장 . Drawing from my past experiences and diverse tastes, I've developed a knack for recognizing exceptional flavors. As I eagerly anticipated, I was looking for the pinnacle of taste. However, when it came to the crunch, the experience wasn't quite up to par. I'd rate the taste a 3 out of 5. My main qualms revolved around the Jjajang paste, which didn't have the heat I was expecting, and the seafood elements were chopped into tiny bits, which hindered the enjoyment of these key ingredients with chopsticks. The timing of our visit fell just beyond the peak lunch hours, making us the sole diners at that moment. It left me contemplating whether expecting different results while executing the same methods could lead to success in the fierce culinary arena.
That's strange. I've been to many restaurants, but the spicy Jjamppong here is incomparable. When I go to Atlanta, this is where I go first. I think a lot of Korean restaurant reviews in Atlanta are a bit strange. Competitors and acquaintances seem to be clouding Google reviews a lot. I tracked down a few people who gave 1 or 2 ratings here, and it seems like that's the case. . Jangchung-dong Jokbal was also three stars. The price and taste of pig's feet here are the best. When you pay at Gyeongmi, TIP is not always charged and only the initial payment amount is posted. I don't think the people working here know how to charge an additional tip after the initial payment, but it's already been 2 years. It's even more unfortunate that they seem to be naive people who think that if they just cook good food and do business well, people will recognize them even if they don't know about these things. My family also runs a food business in Korea, and if I were to run a food business, I would like to learn about Jjamppong Jjajangmyeon here. Fiery flavor, deep soup flavor, amazing squid, vegetables, the best Jjamppong I've had in 40 years.
I ordered spicy Jajangmyeon, black bean noodle. I love that dish. It was not spicy at all, but I love that flavor. By the way, when you order this Jajangmyeon, I suggest not to wear anything light color shirts cause no matter how much you pay attention not to mess your clothes, you end up having some sort of black spots on your shirts…like me. This restaurant is closed on Wednesday.
