Lake Tyler Marina Resort - Whitehouse

Rented the red and white kayaks on Sept 16. They started sinking going across the lake. Had to stop at a shore and drain both. They both had large cracks in the bottom, where they have been dragged across the concrete ramp. The young man that was running the store apologized and gave me a refund. He said that he thought the maintenance guy had repaired them. I told him of a better way to buy some time and get a few more uses out of these before they get replaced. Fast forward two weeks. My son and I are out kayaking and see more people in those same two kayaks. We notice they are sitting low in the water. They had paddled to a shore by the time we got to them. We asked if they were having issues and they said they were hard to keep balanced. I suggested picking them up to see if they had water in them. Both did and the holes were still there. No attempt to repair them had been made in two weeks. They are continuing to rent out unsafe equipment. Those people drained both kayaks and headed back to the marina for a refund also. I give them 2 stars because the young man did appear to be upset that they still had holes in them.

A wonderful spot on the lake with indoor and outdoor (covered deck) seating. Smoking is allowed on the deck and they have karaoke and local musicians on the weekend. The view can't be beat during the day and as the sun sets you get the glow of lights off the water this is a spectacular spot. The wait staff is... fine but not fast and don't know their menu. Kim was our waitress she was amazing and very attentive. The burgers are great and the price is good. If ya go ask for kim!!!

Pleasant spot. There are just 64 slips and all were taken. Nearest storage yard is 8mile away Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Not recommended for a family stay in a camper. There is a lot of activity in and out of the marina that drive right through the campground. No type of security to keep people and/or vehicles out that are not staying from the campsites. Had some other guests that appeared to be living on the site have loud, vulgar, arguments in the middle of the road about 50 feet from our campsite, as well as jump on a moving car trying to get in only to get shoved off of it by another passenger. Had a car stop twice in front of our camper at 9 pm at night only to drive away when I began to approach them. Not recommended for families or anyone trying to enjoy a peaceful getaway on the lake.
