State and main - Whitby

Thursday night is 1/2 $ bottles of wine night!! Love the apps...large size and great/need to share. Service is good. (2nd important thing to me) New menu...nice..missing a few things but have not tried all new stuff... Matter of time... Enjoy....

Food is in large portions, so sharing is a good thing. Anywhere else I would never but the Beef Dip is so so melt in your mouth good. With 2 sides to pick you can't go wrong.

Visited for the first time last week.Was not sure what to expect, a sports bar atmosphere was evident when I walked in.The servers were very courteous and attentive. Great food, lots of sports to watch while having a great time with friends. Great atmosphere.

Arrived on a Friday around 19:30 and it was busy. Had a wait which was fine. But the waiting area small, cold and confined and restaurant loud.Was seated at our table which accommodated us well and our servers name was Brittany and she was wonderful.Placed our orders. Three of us ordered Beef dips and my son ordered the chicken wrap and my husband ordered a chicken burger.It took quite a while to receive our food and when we did we were all disappointed.The food had no flavor and was given very few French fries.My son didn't even finish his chicken wrap.Sad when you pay for good food and you might as well have stayed home cause you could have done better yourself.Won't be back. Wish I owned a restaurant to take our server though. Really good.

A friend and I visited last night - my third time. The place was virtually empty. We asked for a booth but they weren't sure they had one to accommodate us....again the place was empty. Lo and behold they found one after walking around the restaurant first to scout out a seat. We were seated by a woman who pretty much grunted at seating us. The staff is not friendly. The smiles are few and robotic comes to mind. I ordered the chicken Ceasar. It was tasty but it had 3 small slices of chicken and huge undercooked croutons. $15. I was starving afterwards as expected that to be a main. State &Main is not on the list for repeat visits. 3 strikes and they are OUT!
