Kyoto House - Whitby

I depend on TripAdvisor reviews. Sorry to disagree. This is an ok place for the price. Period. Clearly a favourite of some folks.

This is the worst sushi I have ever experienced and I'v tried some pretty bad ones. The person making the rolls clearly does not care, because the rolls just fall apart with no presentation at all. Tiniest piece of fish ever in each roll that were room temperature and tasted like spearmint for some reason. I am a 100% positive that this restaurant waters down their soya sauce. My sauce was not salty and was clear/transparent. I confronted the waitress about this and she denied it. Place was empty on a Wednesday night, I wonder why. I don't understand why there are a lot of positive reviews, maybe they have gone down hill in recent months/years. One beer and all-you can eat sushi was 30 dollars- what a joke. I guess its difficult to make half decent sushi when you just don't care.

We went to go to the Keg and it was too packed so we came here. The food here is served fast and with a smile. I really like the shrimp tempura, salmon sushi, spicy crab roll, dragon roll, shrimp tempura roll, spicy salmon. The tempura bits they use in the rolls are unreal. I'll keep coming and coming here.

I really enjoyed the food here and thought it was one of the best around. The crunchy tempura that's used in the sushi that they make is unreal and a real treat. The only thing I could suggest for here is an iPad ordering menu. The staff was really friendly and treated us proper. I'll definitely be back.

My family and I love to go here. The main woman is very kind and caring towards my kids. The sushi is pretty good and several items are very good. Overall a good experience and reasonably priced. We will continue to go back to this place because everyone can find a few things on the menu that they really like.
