Bidrage med feedbackWe regularly drive from Lindsay (an hour away) to Whitby specifically to have Elias’ shawarma sandwich and shawarma plate. Food is all fresh and consistently delicious. I have had no experience of rude or off-putting customer service. In fact, sometimes I have had nice conversations when it’s not too busy. Wish they were closer but we will continue our monthly or more often visits
This place is awesome, service is friendly, large portions and reasonably priced. Chicken kabob dinner is excellent, we’ve been here a few times for takeout and it never disappoints us!
I absolutely adore the food at this restaurant. Everything is so fresh and the staff is amazing. The portion sizes are generous and the place is very clean too!
I have been a regular customer since this restaurant opened. The food was initially excellent always fresh and cooked to perfection. Within about a year the quality began to slide. Still great on some days, on others I would end up with stale Naan, wilted vegetables and recently stale chicken and mantoo dumplings that were clearly left over from at least the previous day and reheated in a rush (still cold inside and with hard dough . The most disappointing part is the service. The male older gentlemen is always a pleasure the deal with. The portions he serves are always generous and he will gladly add a couple of extra turnips or hot peppers if you ask. The lady (I'm assuming his wife? on the other hand is a nightmare. Stingy with portion sizes and God forbid you ask for anything extra we're talking a couple of extra hot peppers or an extra plastic fork. I would probably put up with the rudeness as I have since the place had opened, if the food quality continued to be as high as it was when the restaurant was new. However, given that we also ended up throwing a few meals out recently because they were simply not fresh I will likely just stop coming. There is an excellent Afghan restaurant in Ajax we recently discovered. A bit farther to drive, but the food had been excellent each time we went and the service consistently pleasant.
We have been on the search for a decent kabob for sometime now in the Whitby area. Stopped in this mall for another location but decided to try the kabobs here and check them out. This is a family run operation (friendly) and serves very authentic Afghan food. It took a little time to make the kabobs (which is fine, since it shows they are fresh and cooked as requested) so they offered me to try a samosa while I waited. This simple dish was a bit of a surprise due to the amount of hot spicing it had (I mentioned Afghan, so take note), but decent enough for a samosa. Everyone enjoyed the chicken kabobs, though for $7 each, you only get about 4 chunks of meat on each one. If you like Afghan food, or are looking for a change in what your normal dinner routine is, this is well worth a try. Me, I'm, while these kabobs were good, I'm still looking.
