Bidrage med feedbackWhen we first walked in there was a bug climbing the wall next to the host stand. Nice small place but the food was ok. I ordered a ribeye and it was the worst ribeye I have had. Barely even marbled so might have even served me the wrong cut or it was just a bad ribeye. The entire steak was burnt and left a terrible after taste. Their special steak sauce tasted like they added a fee spices to Heinz ketchup. Caramelized Brussels sprouts are good. Definitely spend your money elsewhere if you want steak but otherwise it wasn't terrible.
If I want a good steak dinner, needless to say I will NOT be coming back here any time. For appetizers, we ordered the crab cake and grilled Cesar salad. Both were sub par. For being jumbo lump crab there were no lumps. It was all grounded together and for $22 it was no bigger than 3 bites and half the size of my palm. For an entree, we split the veal porterhouse and the herb potato wedges. The veal was charred on the outside and raw on the inside. The bordelaise sauce tasted like mud. The wedges were golden in some parts and raw in others. Not once did the waitress come over to ask us if we needed anything (salt, pepper, ketchup) or refill our drinks. Never again!
I was up for a work visit in the area, and my coworker and I decided to have lunch there. Very good food. Presentation was excellent. I was really impressed with the decoration and style of the place, definitely top-notch. We met the owner and he was such a delightful person to meet and talk to.I cannot recommend it enough; everything is perfect.
I has a person who loves steak really won't be going to this place again. It's way overpriced. I think I paid $20 per drink for a pineapple and tequila Casamigos at that which is lower quality. We got the grilled octopus that was still a little bit slimy, I've definitely had a better way better in other places. For dinner I had the Hangar Steak and my mother had the fillet mignon 10 ounce now if you liked smoked meat, you may really appreciate it but I am not a huge fan although the meat was cooked properly medium rare to medium, I asked for a side of garlic butter, which was still frozen. I had to ask her to thaw it out because the steak was actually not hot enough to melt the butter. The sides that they offered were pretty decent. They are shareable dishes the arugula salad was nice, but it had red onions and not enough cheese. let me also tell you about the wait. I made a reservation for 630 and when we got there there was really no one sitting for dinner just a couple of tables but yet it took about 10 minutes for a host to come and seat us not really sure why. It's a shame. I've been really wanting to go here as I pass it to go to other restaurants in Wharton, but I really don't see myself going there again for the price of the steaks which were over $60 in many cases just the steak by the way I can find a better place to go.!
Wow. The food service ambience and everything else was absolutely terrific. We had a large number of appetizers steaks along with desserts. We also ordered wines off the menu. Just go. I think my steak was as good a New York strip as I have had in awhile. the short ribs along with the duck were both excellent...Donald should not be forgotten. Terrific experience in a great atmosphere please keep it up.
