Jw's Brasserie - Westport

The restaurant serves delicious local cuisine, but the portions are small. They offer golden fries upon request, and the prices are very reasonable.

Excellent food and excellent service. Can particularly recommend the Salmon and the sirloin steaks. So good that we returned for a second evening.

Didn’t stay at the Wyatt but ate there one evening with our family. We placed our meal order which was for 5 adult meals and a child’s meal. We asked staff if they would fill our baby daughter’s bottle with milk and were told that this would cost €2.50 and be shown on the bill as a glass of milk. It’s the first time ever I have been asked to pay to have my child’s bottle filled in a hotel where we are eating and indeed in any other hotel or restaurant we have eaten in Westport, staff have gladly filled the baby’s bottle and no charge has been made.

We ate in JW's Brasserie twice on a recent holiday to Westport. Excellent food, good menu to choose from and excellent service all round. A very nice atmosphere and cosily decorated spot. Hope to be back again.

There was clearly a problem in the kitchen the night we visited. The cooking of some courses was bizarre, such as the tiger prawns where the prawns had no seasoning, were on hard and not grilled sourdough bread and none of what was meant to be in the dish included. Similarly, the steak sandwich was in the same untoasted sourdough bread and had carrots in the sandwich! A first I think but not a good one. Just bizarre. The guy who was serving realised the problems and was very apologetic. The lady manager was very different and kept saying “I find that hard to believe”. Given the other positive reviews, I can only assume there was a temp chef in the kitchen but if that is the case, then they should have recognised the problems with the food
