Bidrage med feedbackGood tofu for good price. Soy milk and stuffs. Vietnamese things. Small mom and pop store. Workers seem to only speak vietnamese, so prepare to use sign language if you don't know how to speak vietnamese
I wasn 't aware of this little shop 's reputation for their tofu products until after I checked them out on Yelp after I had left the shop. To be honest, I never intended to stop by this shop, but was in the area last week trying to pick up banh chung/banh tet for the Lunar New Year. Banh Chung/Banh Tet is traditionally given/exchanged/eaten during the Tet Festival for good fortune. The shop I had intended to buy them from (Minh Phung) a few doors down was out of the smaller banh chung, so I continued walking down Weststate Street seeing if there were other alternatives, and came across this cute little shop. The owner/cashier lady was very friendly and patient, as I asked her what the different pictures/labels on the banh chung represented. She explained that some banh chungs were man which had mung beans, pork belly and sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves, while others were chay which meant they were vegetarian, and did not contain pork belly. The selection here was vast, considering how small the actual store was they had both the smaller banh chung, and the larger square ones. The smaller squares were sold for $5 each, and they had nearly 50 of them on display. I did the poke test to make sure they were fresh, and picked out four two for myself and two to give away. The shop also sold red envelopes, pickled vegetables (which some people prefer to eat with the banh chung), and tofu products, but I didn 't buy any of the tofu products since I was specifically shopping for banh chung. In hindsight, especially after reading some of these reviews, I wished I did. This shop is cash only, and there is limited parking up front. Will definitely return if I 'm in the area, when it 's not so busy/crowded/hectic due to the lunar new year!
Love their fried lemongrass and mushroom tofu cubes. The pandan drink is good bc it's not sweet.
Best fried tofu cubes with the black mushroom!! Always craving for it!! They should think of mass packaging it and selling it to Costco. Haha.
Really fresh banh uot and fried, seasoned tofu. Small joint that specializes in a few things that they then sell to bigger grocery stores. Pricing is good. Nice sales lady.
