Bidrage med feedbackMy aunt and I had lunch at Happy Sumo yesterday. My dad and uncle had been there the day before and recommended it, so I was expecting a good experience. I ordered the seafood tempura ($15), while my aunt opted for the samurai steak ($19). Although both dishes had decent flavor, I felt they were overpriced. There was no miso soup or salad offered with our meals, and the rice portion on my plate was just a small scoop—so I ended up ordering more. They charged me $3 for an extra bowl of rice! My dad had the same meal the previous day, but he received rice in a bowl and a salad with his order. By the end of our lunch, the bill for two people exceeded $50. You can get the same quality food for just $20 at Tokyo Teriyaki. If you're looking for authentic high-end Japanese cuisine, I recommend trying Domo downtown instead. Overall, Happy Sumo doesn't feel like a real Japanese restaurant. Signed by a genuine Japanese male.
This restaurant should really be called Happy Yummy because everything here is fantastic. A friend and I visited one afternoon for an early dinner and happened to catch the happy hour. They offer amazing deals during this time, and we were very satisfied with everything we tried. The menu is diverse, and the sushi selections are so extensive that it's hard to choose everything in just one visit. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and we definitely plan to return!
This restaurant offers the widest selection of sushi rolls I've ever encountered, even surpassing my favorite spots in NYC, Florida, and several business destinations. The standard offerings like crab, tuna, salmon, shrimp, scallops, and mackerel are outstanding. They also serve halibut, eel, squid, and octopus, as well as a variety of fish roe including salmon, smelt, and flying fish eggs. The vegetable options range from asparagus and bell peppers to cucumber, green onions, zucchini, and more. Their eel sauce and ponzu sauce are excellent too. Beginners can start off slowly, but the more you visit, the bolder you'll feel to try new flavors! It's definitely worth multiple visits. They even offer sushi rolls with chicken or steak. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
