The Malted Barley - Westerly

I'm glad they're closing. I waited over an hour for my food order, which is ridiculous, and it wasn't even good.

I recently moved near Westerly and was advised to try this restaurant before it closes down. I went there and I’ll be really disappointed if it shuts its doors. The food was delicious, and the beer complemented it perfectly. It's the busiest spot in the area, so it seems strange that it might close, but I suppose they have their reasons. Overall, I’m really glad I decided to check it out.

We were in the area and decided to stop by for lunch. As always, the food was excellent. This time, our order was correct from the start, which is often a challenge for us due to food allergies, so I was truly grateful since we were quite hungry! The caprese sandwich was fantastic; the flavor combination was superb, and I was pleasantly surprised that it held together well. I didn't really need the dessert pretzel, but I ordered it anyway—just to have more to review. The cream cheese dip was incredible, so make sure you don’t get the pretzel without it. My child had a gluten-free pretzel with bacon, and it was delicious too. Overall, this place is a great stop in the area; don't miss it!

The Malted Barley has become a favorite lunch spot for our extended family to partake of when we are in town once a year or so to visit part of the family who lives in South Kingstown. The sandwiches are unique and delicious and are our go-to stop when visiting Waverly, along with the bookstore just around the corner.
