Damso Korean - West Lafayette

DAMSO is currently closed as they search for a new location to reopen. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every meal we had there. For all the Boilermakers who love Korean cuisine, let's stay hopeful for their return!

The owner deceived me and the ordering platform on two occasions. I placed an order for pickup through a platform, but just ten minutes before I was scheduled to pick it up, the owner informed the platform to cancel my order, falsely claiming they were closed. When I arrived, he insisted that it was the platform that canceled my order and offered to prepare it for me immediately if I paid him directly. He provided no apology or explanation for the cancellation. I've decided not to order from him again due to his dishonesty—today and in the future.

On our first visit to Damso, we felt somewhat uncertain. The menu isn't extensive, and it consists entirely of set meals, which was a bit unexpected. We had hoped to share a main dish, select some vegetables, and perhaps add a side or two, but unlike its beloved predecessor, that option wasn't available. The prices were reasonable, and the food was flavorful. One unexpected detail was the note taped to each table requesting diners to clear their own dishes. Overall, Damso appears to have great potential but seems to be still figuring out its identity.

So good! My friend who took me has spent some time living in Korea, so she knows what's up. I think we were the only patrons not of Korean ancestry in the place, which is always promising! The chicken was fantastic. Nice heaping portions served family style for everyone to dig in and try a few different dishes. You'll leave with a full belly and a smile on your face.

I actually didn't get to eat their food but my son did. He ordered pork belly and Korean chicken for his dinner and he told me it was really yummy! He was craving for tabletop grill we used to have at home. And him missing home food made this mommy's heart hurting. I am so thankful that Damso full filled my son's cravings with delicious Korean food. Thank you so much and I will definitely will try your food when I am in town.
