Today was the grand opening, and I couldn't resist stopping by to check out a place with such an appealing name! I'm so glad I did. The atmosphere was fantastic, the staff was friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious! As someone who is gluten-sensitive, I really appreciated their willingness to modify my Philly cheesesteak sandwich, serving it over a salad instead of with fries. The portions were generous! And the buffalo wings? Simply amazing! I will definitely be returning. Simply put... mmmmmm...

We visited for a late lunch, and it turned out to be a great experience. I can’t remember the exact dishes we ordered, but I do recall enjoying the Mac and Cheese and their take on Southern chicken, which they kindly prepared just for us. We also tried the ceviche tostadas. At that time on a Friday, we were the only customers, and we parked our car right outside. The service was excellent.

This is hands down the best soul food restaurant I've encountered in a long time, offering a delightful mix of dishes from various cultures. If you're seeking delicious food options, a vibrant atmosphere, excellent service, fantastic music, and refreshing drinks, all accompanied by genuine Southern hospitality, don't hesitate to check this place out. I truly hope it remains open for many years to come, serving even more customers. I'm thrilled to have this gem just around the corner—it gives me something to look forward to during the week. We sampled a variety of items from the menu, including drinks, appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Everything was cooked to perfection, well-seasoned, and fairly priced. We particularly enjoyed the empanadas, especially the beef, which turned out to be the favorite among us. Everything tasted incredibly fresh – even the salad was bright and crisp, almost as if it had just been picked from a garden. For our main courses, we tried the ribs, fried chicken, skirt steak, fried cod, wings, salmon, and shrimp Alfredo, and every single one of us was satisfied with our choice. The service was outstanding, with two family members attending to us promptly and ensuring we had everything we needed. We also loved the music selection during our meal – a delightful Motown medley that transitioned into some of Prince’s early hits. It brought back fond memories for my mom, aunts, and uncle, and we were almost tempted to turn the evening into an impromptu karaoke session! The night was rounded off perfectly with a delicious dessert. We chose the banana pudding cake and carrot cake, and I must say, the banana pudding cake is a must-try! As a baker and a connoisseur of banana pudding desserts, I can confidently give it my seal of approval. Don’t miss out on the banana pudding cake! My family will be returning next year for another Yale graduation, and HerSoul will definitely be on our list again. While I genuinely hope this restaurant becomes a popular destination so it can thrive, I secretly hope we won’t have any trouble making reservations next year!

My husband and I dined at this restaurant the day after a large event, which unfortunately meant they had limited inventory. We decided to sample some appetizers and a few side dishes. During our visit, we had a delightful and informative conversation with Ashley, who was incredibly friendly and courteous. The food was nothing short of amazing! My husband, who typically struggles to eat vegetables, really enjoyed the collard greens. The mac and cheese was exceptional, and the appetizers were fantastic too. We're already planning our return to try the main dishes, and I will definitely be reaching out soon to inquire about catering options.
