Dive Bar Restaurant - West Haven

Went for the first time for Jukebox Bingo. Parking was easy even though the bar was packed. Amazing little open air bar directly across from West Haven beach. Great staff, decent drinks, and great bar food! We even got to see a rainbow right over the ocean!!

What a rude waitress (older dark-haired woman). We were waiting for an order to move outside, after the rain. She asked us to move from an inside table. There were 6 of us. It wasn't so much of her asking...it's was the rude approach. I've worked in customer service my whole life...SMH. Disappointed and we won't be back!! Response: We were a party of six, originally seated inside. We asked if we could sit outside, and we were told that because it had rained earlier, they could not serve us outside. We then asked to order our food to go so that we could sit outside. We had no problem with cleaning up after ourselves or going to the bar for beverages. While we were waiting for the food, we were rudely informed there was another large party, and if we were just waiting for takeout, and then rudely asked to move. Once we got our food (outside), we were then told that we could not even eat outside. Also, by a young rude girl. I do NOT understand why staff could not be friendly. I have zero tolerance for such behavior. It doesn't take much to put on a smile and be kind. We had just left another local place, with wonderful food. We had each ordered lobster roll dinners. They were wonderful. They were left a very good CASH tip. I will always reward good treatment, and I will always leave a review when receiving bad treatment.

All the food is great here, friendly staff, and always packed. You may have difficulty finding a table, but that's a testament to how popular this place is.

My daughter went to the restaurant with a group from college to have lunch and they denied her entry because she was not 21 according to them she should be accompanied by an adult according to the manager who was very rude according to the rule of the manager in CT you have to be 21 years old to be able to enter a restaurant with a bar at no time in the years that I have been in the state of CT. I have never seen this law how are you going to deny permission to consume food because you are a minor if you are a restaurant owner and there is a bar which is the majority of the cases I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. without mentioning how rude and aggressive they were with them. I do not recommend it at all the lack of courtesy and kindness is what makes the difference and clearly this was not the case

Dive bar is a great location. Beautiful view on the sound. The first time I ate there the burger was great. Sadly the next 2 times I was disappointed with the dry over cooked meat. If they have changed where they get their hamburger they need to go back to original it was 100 times better. I still love the atmosphere and would recommend it. Consistency is soo very important they need to work on that
