Marie Callender's - West Covina

I've been visiting this place since I was a teenager, and I've always enjoyed the food and service.

I went to buy two pies during pie month and checked the menu and prices beforehand. I was expecting to pay less than $18, but I was charged $30 instead. A few days later, my friend and I returned to get some pies and asked for a menu to confirm the prices, but we were informed that they didn’t have one! The website I had looked at has since been taken down. They advertise a $5 discount on all pies, but it seems they raised the prices by at least $5 per pie, which means there’s really no discount at all! I bet that on March 1st, the pies will be priced the same as they are this month—I'm willing to put money on it!

The restaurant has changed ownership recently, and unfortunately, the service hasn't kept up. When I visited, there was only one cashier at the front, with no one available to seat arriving guests. I overheard a waitress telling the cashier not to seat any more customers because a new staff member had just started their shift. They were only seating guests in the bar area, even though the rest of the restaurant was completely empty. While I was waiting in line to order, I noticed several customers became frustrated and left because they were kept waiting. I much prefer the Marie's location in Glendora/Azusa; they operate much more efficiently.

The restaurant esthetic is not very good, the inside looks outdated and not very appealing. The food was mediocre, my salad was not cold and the pot pie was a little too salty.

Marie callender's is my special place to eat at another food and the staff is very friendly
