1930 Shanghai - West Brome

I almost don't want to rate this place so high, in case more people find it! Some of the BEST dumplings I've had on the South Shore. Xiao long bao were beautiful, tons of flavour, and plenty of soup. Lots of options for fried and steamed dumplings, as well as more typical plates for friends who prefer noodles/fried foods. Service was a little confused (different servers kept coming back to my table after I'd already paid) but I can't wait to go back!

We ordered an appetizer beef, it was so hard to chew. The dumplings steamed or fried didn’t taste fresh, almost no taste! The tea was disgusting ! We complained about the beef, the waitress said “oh, the other table just finished it!”Not recommend at all!

The dumplings are grate and moderately priced. As for the atmosphere, it has a Fast food feel to it. I would go back because I liked the food.

I would say it’s an average place with affordable prices, very nice service too. However, the food is also average, I heard from my friend that their soup dumplings are good, so I had high expectations which didn’t align with what I was served. Some sauces were too sweet for me, the boba was soft and soaked, not as chewy. If you really want something more authentic, I would recommend try other places in Chinatown or on St. Catherine if you are a picky eater like me.
