The Old Chequers - West Berkshire

I went to the restaurant for a meal, but there was no food available. They were overcharging people for drinks. I saw a man dealing drugs to a scared blonde guy out back. The staff witnessed this but still allowed them to book a table for football tonight. It looks like it will be an eventful night for those willing to risk a raid during COVID. Enjoy at your own risk.

I initially stopped by for a quiet drink, but it seems that the establishment has undergone some changes. It now offers food and transforms into a lively disco with loud music and bright lights after 10pm, making it difficult to have a conversation. It's not a place my friends or I would choose to revisit after 10pm.

I have dined at this restaurant a few times, but the new owners, Colin and Michelle, have something special when it comes to the food that is served. I ordered a BLT with salad for him, and the most amazing fish finger sandwich I have ever had, accompanied by a lovely side salad. Absolutely fabulous. I cannot wait for my next visit, you should definitely give them a try.

So sorry that Angie has been forced to leave The Old Chequers in Thatcham. Her food was out of this world. Still here's to the lucky kitchen that will have her knowhow in the future. Go for it Angie.

Very saddened to hear that Angie will no longer be running the kitchen. Her food was amazing, and customer service was also excellent, won't be the same without Angie there safe to say I will not be eating there anymore
