Costa Coffee - West Berkshire

On our way to Bournemouth we had a comfort stop at Chieveley services we manage to purchase 2 lovely decaf coffee's at Costa coffee we recieved quick friendly service I enjoy the blend of coffee served collecting the bean's is a good incentive.

Really bad coffee. Bought two. Both terrible. One of them scolding hot as the barista was texting on her mobile while making the coffee(! Shocking quality and service for the price. Feeling pretty ripped off!

Today I went to Costa at 6:36pm. A customer accidentally spilled her drink and asked the staff for some paper towels to clean it up. Instead of offering to help, the staff just gave her blue roll and continued chatting amongst themselves, even though there were four members of staff not busy. The customer tried to clean up the spill and deal with her children on her own, but the floor was left really wet. Despite mothers with babies and elderly customers walking around, the staff did not offer any assistance. After watching this for five minutes, I approached the staff and suggested they put up wet floor signs and properly clean the spill. One of the girls rolled her eyes at me, but two of them finally went to get wet floor signs. However, they did not show any signs of properly cleaning the spill. I recommend that the staff at Costa undergo a health and safety course on slip, trip, and fall hazards, as they could be held liable in case of an accident. This was a display of total incompetence.

Very friendly service. Clean and cosy. Nice to break up a motor trip. Lovely ladies serving the drinks and welcoming customers.

Purchased breakfast whilst staying at Travelodge. Good value for money with the Travelodge discount.
