My Place Cafe Restaurant

I have visited this restaurant a few times while my car was being washed across the street because they are conveniently located for me to keep an eye on the car's cleaning progress.

If you have visited several hospital cafes and are in desperate need of coffee, you are usually resigned to terribly bad coffee. However, this place is the exception.

I discovered this charming little spot on Yelp and decided to check it out for my coffee and pastry fix.

The experience at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. I took my mother out for what was supposed to be a nice lunch, looking for some simple food that wasn't going to break the bank. I had dined at this restaurant on previous occasions where my circumstances were usually time-poor and in need of a quick feed. But this experience was so terrible I just had to write a review. We arrived at the restaurant with the front doors guarded (literally blocked) by two staff. A few patrons were seated inside and out, so it wasn't too busy at all. We ordered garlic bread for starters and a mixed grill plate to share. We asked for two glasses of water without ice and would order some hot drinks after our meal. What we got instead were two glasses with ice. Hoping to just brush it off, my mother who was sick with a sore throat just settled for the bottle of water she had brought from home. The garlic bread shortly arrived and was placed on the table and our waitress scurried off before I could even ask for two plates. I tried to get her attention in the not so busy restaurant and had to resort to walking up to the kitchen myself to ask the kitchen staff. A different waitress then came to take the empty dish and asked us to take the cutlery off our plates so we could give her our empty plates. We informed her we were sharing the platter so she let us keep them. When the platter arrived, I noticed that there was no bread which usually accompanied it. I got the attention of one of the waitresses and was informed that although the platter usually comes with bread, she wasn't sure if they had any left. However, a little while after, she returned with a plate of bread and quickly left. When I went to grab a piece, I noticed that it was cold, straight out of the fridge. I had to wait to get the attention of one of the waitresses who took the bread away and quickly came back with a replacement. The bread she provided, although double in serving, was also mildly warm and partially cold in places. The salad that came with our mixed grill had no dressing and was too dry. My mum is not one to comment about service but on this occasion asked me if this was a joke. In such disappointment, we finished our meal and couldn't wait to get out of there. The mixed grill plate and the garlic bread came to $30. Reasonable price for a meal for two, but quality customer service is priceless.

Hi i went here once and i ordered the pasta i asked for a different type as well and thay was perfecty fine for them. i found the food warm but it still tasted great with great service friendly faces and i dont understand the comments some people have written.im going there again today but the menu has changed and now its said that it is a lot better and i cant wait to go.
