This is a great little pub with a great local community feel. Highly recommend, however, it's more than just a dog-friendly pub; there are dogs everywhere. Well worth a visit, a great selection of booze, not so good for its alcohol-free selection.
We'd driven past this pub a number of times on the way to deerleap viewpoint and were intrigued by the beach huts in the pub garden. Took the plunge and popped in for a quick drink on our way back to Bristol from Burnham. We were greeted by a warm, friendly local pub with a cheery gent behind the bar. A good selection of ales and a gins but perhaps it the most extensive (as you'd expect). Plenty of little pockets of seats to sit in, including pews, in a rustic setting. Nice roaring fire in the wood burner kept the place warm. We will be back to sample the food and maybe try the beach huts when the weather is nicer
Top pub at the top of the Cheddar Gorge! Lovely old stone building, flagstone floor, and several cosy log burners. Decent menu and 2 Real Ales from Butcombe in excellent condition. Landlord and his staff are welcoming and friendly. Really enjoyed our lunchtime visit!
A proper country pub. A friend recommended this pub and even though it’s out of our way we thought we would give it a try, and have been back many times. The food here is fresh and cooked to perfection. The service has always been very good and the prices are reasonable. I’ve not tried them yet but they have beach huts set up as mini dining rooms seating up to six. They have a nice outside space in front of the pub and a play area on the other side of the car park.
