The Olde Heidelberg Restaurant Tavern & Motel

One of the big attractions that draws people from miles around to this small town century hotel, is the food. Food you won't find anywhere else. Yes, they have ribs and sausage and schnitzel ... but I'm talking about Smoked Pork Hocks ... big enough to hurt someone and yummy pigtails. ( yes, those two words can be put in the same sentence. ) Both cooked to perfection. Make the drive and you won't be sorry.

Restaurant located in small town North of Kitchener. The environment has a quaint setting to it. Service we received was good (even after minor mishap), we received the order as requested and staff was friendly with us. Ordered their famous Pork Combo Platter which tasted really good. It's actually better than the one I had in Germany. Not too salty and very meaty, not too try and rich in flavour. Be prepared to lineup as restaurant is very busy during lunchtime.Recommend visiting.

Recommended to try their wing night, and was pleasantly surprised to see enormous wings with great seasoning for a reasonable price. The atmosphere can be loud, as any other pub, and the staff was not very attentive. I would come back for the wings, not the service.

I heard there is a family-run German Restauranrt in Watooloo area a long time ago and it serves a real hearty German. recently my friends and I walked in--it was teetering on the "dingy" side of "full of character." The menu was plain, kind of small-town dinery, with a lot of selections such as hot dogs, hamburgers and sandwiches, but the only schnitzel was veal, I ordered the smoked pork hock. It was tender and tasty, but my feeling told me it was most likely coming from somewhere else and they just warmed it up. Not the German food experience I was after at all, although the service was friendly enough. For German food lovers, I would recommend you to look around to find a better one.

We took a friend to this restaurant the middle of June for an early dinner. The food quality was terrible. We ordered two smoked pork hocks, one of which was completely over burned while the other was certainly not fresh. I asked the waitress to replace the overburned one, they did. The other one we kept, but I did ask the waitress if this is freshly made, she said it was freshly made today, implying it was made for lunch. I will not go back any more. The right picture is the changed one which is good.我们带一个朋友上周末去这家店，非常失望。上次去是一年前。我们要了两个猪脚，一个烤焦了，一个皮软塌塌的，很明显这是午餐剩下的，他们重新加工，一个是烤的，一个是蒸的。我让他们换了那个烤焦的，留下来那个软塌塌的。后来我问了服务员，她肯定这是新鲜的吗，她说是今天做的，不敢承认是晚餐新鲜的，言外之意是午餐做的。这是开饭店大忌，因为伤害声誉。我绝不会再回去。左边照片是那个不新鲜的，右边是换来的新鲜的。
