Bidrage med feedbackOur group of hikers stopped at this restaurant for lunch. The bartender escorted us to the garden and set up three tables for us at a nice distance. He went over the safety measures, collected our contact information, and promptly served our drinks. The beer and apple wine were well-maintained. Although the garden started to get busy, the two staff members made sure all our needs were taken care of. Our food was freshly prepared, generously portioned, and delicious. We had a fantastic lunch and will definitely return to The Wheatsheaf when we're in the area again.
If you enjoy Harvey's, this is the place to visit. The atmosphere is good, the bar staff is attentive, and they feature great bands during Easter and Summer bank holidays.
The highlight of the restaurant is the beer selection. However, the overall experience was marred by poor service, lackluster atmosphere, and an overall feeling of neglect. It seems that no one from Harveys Better Pubs is paying attention to the establishment.
My man I went to lunch here on Friday and sat in the garden, as the weather was quite warm. the woman behind the bar was not particularly friendly, but the younger one who served our food was sweet. the menu is...limited what I think is a good sign at a small place. we have not harassed ourselves with appetizers, there were only options and nothing has caught our interest. for the netzen chose my man black loin that came with maic, green beans and black pudding I had the chicken breast with blase squeaky green beans. they both came with the most amazing, tasty gravy and were delicious. especially the blasphemy. I would have eaten happily, just a bit of it alone! then we had puddings sticky toffee pudding with ice for gary that he loved chocolate waffel with ice for me. we had to wait a while until our head arrives, but it was worth it. very nice.
We camped for nights a mile down the road and popped in this lovely pub for lunctime drinks . Beautifully kept harveys and nice wine The atmosphere was so friendly that we visited again in the evening for supper and their quiz night which...was great fun. The food was lovely and we really feel that is a traditional English pub just the way it should be. We intend to re visit the camp site and will definitely re visit the pub.
