Bidrage med feedbackDinner was good. Our server was excellent. The Hostess was rude about us closing the drape. The sunlight was very bright, blinding us. She proceeded to open them again. She explained that the drapes were older than her and we should not touch them. Next time we won't sit by a windows. I suggest that they invest in some kind of sun shield so their customers can eat without sunglasses.
Dimly lit bar/lounge has an excellent view of Silver Lake. I don't know if they take reservations or not, but we stood in line before 5 pm waiting for a table in the dining room and ended up getting a lovely table for two overlooking the lake. Our server, Cindy, was perfection! Warm, knowledgeable and checked back at the magic times we needed something. Both of us ordered the Boris Special (12-14 oz. prime rib) medium rare, with a baked potato and salad. The prime rib was excellent!! Juicy, tender, well seasoned. We loved the salad dressing so much that we bought bottles of Roquefort and French to enjoy at home. The only dings were the lack of relish tray and why give a basket of crackers if you don't offer cheese dip or spread? If they aren't included, why not put them on the menu so supper club fans can still get what they expect? Plus the in-house salad dressings were exquisite but they were over an iceberg lettuce salad that contained a lot of the white stem/core area that no one wants; to showcase that dressing better, they really need to toss out the white part and/or add romaine, butterhead, spinach, etc.
Well, drove from Rockford IL expecting a nice place. It is a great setting however the mens restroom was gross. I was never cleaned in a while. The stench of old urine was so bad I had to cover my face with my shirt just to use facility. It smelled so bad I could smell it from bar area. Bar tender was very cold. I ordered a drink and while she made it I said hi how are you today she says fine. Gave me my drink and I said thank you ... she should be thanking me I'm customer. Food was good but can't believe no baked onion soup. Prices on line are way different from menu.
Great traditional supper club! Beautiful setting right along the lake if you can get in before the sun goes down. Make sure you've got a reservation, because all of the early spots fill up quickly. The potato skin appetizer is phenomenal. Thick crispy skins served with dipping sauce. There's plenty to share with the table, but might be a bit salty for some. A bit disappointed with the side salad, but I guess that's not what you came for. The steaks are beautifully cooked and great quality you can't go wrong with any. Service felt a bit rushed, especially since there was nobody waiting for a table after us. Once you place your order things start rolling out right away great if you don't like sitting idle. Overall we well taken care of though! it's a great dinner spot for a special occasion. If you stop by on your birthday, make sure to let the server know and they'll give you a $10 voucher towards your meal.
Our goal is to eat at all the restaurants in the Wi Supper Club books. So we stopped at Silvercrest. It has a 1600Lb Bull that welcomes you. This restaurant opened in 1890, they is so much history there,it was worth the stop just just to see it. But the food was also worth the stop. i had BBQ ribs very good but the sauce was a little spicy for me. My husband had Steak and Shrimp which he said was delicious. They only gave us one poppy seed muffin and there were two of us, i won , it was very good. The salad was average. There was a large bar, and small but nice outside area to have drinks. The waiter was good.
