Trails End Lodge - Wausau

Found this gem by googling Friday fish fry in Wausau because we were passing through there. Amazing fish tacos not your typical tiny fish buried inside a tortilla. These are huge chunks of delicious beer battered haddock cooked to perfection with tasty slaw. My husband had the perch and loved it as well. It’s a light batter that enhances the fish but doesn’t take away from it. Service was great and atmosphere too! We were 2 hours from home and said we’d make the trip just to eat there again!

I hate to write this, the service was absolutely amazing. The staff greeted me with a smile, the atmosphere was a good vibe. We tried the fish fry, the fish was meh, beer battered fish, the fries were ok, the tartar sauce has sweet relish (not my style), the coleslaw I’m not sure what they’re doing there. I would maybe go to have a couple drinks but I would skip on the fish fry again. Food: 2

This place offers the best fish fry in town! I dined in for lunch and found the prices to be quite reasonable, ranging between $10 and $20 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all earned a perfect score of 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Beer Battered Haddock. Plus, there's plenty of parking available, and it's all free!
