Bidrage med feedbackThis place is so worth the drive from Aurora. They serve delicious and fresh Guatemalan food. It tastes so much better than the run of the mill Mexican restaurants everyone is so used to. The restaurant is immaculate and the staff is friendly and attentive. The food sometimes takes a bit longer to be served but it is fresh and hot. They are working on their liquor license but if you really need a drink after an excellent meal there is a bar next door. Do not pass this place up!
Alright food. My beans were very dry. Compared to other places this place falls short. But the staff was excellent. So 3 stars is appropriate.
Found myself spending the night in the truck stop across the street again. I read the reviews on Yelp and decided to check this place out. The atmosphere was casual and it was clean and cheery. I was quickly seated and offered a menu by a young man who appeared to be about high school age. I ordered the chili relleno with the meat and cheese filling. Then, the wait began. After about 10 minutes the waiter brought some chips and salsa, he mumbled that he had forgotten to bring them. The salsa was very flavorful and spicy. The chips however were disappointing. They were obviously out of a box or bag, not freshly made. I munched on the chips and salsa as I continued to wait and wait and wait. After about 30 minutes my waiter informed me they were out of the meat and cheese chilli rellenos but they still had some cheese ones left. I asked him to bring me the menu so I could order something else. I ordered the carne assadas. After another 10 minute wait my meal finally arrived. The presentation was very nice. The meat was a thinly sliced and nicely seasoned ribeye steak. It was slightly over cooked for my taste but it was still very good. The real hit for me was black bean retried beans. They had a wonderful flavor and texture. Overall my meal was very good but the service was substandard. Prices were about what you would expect to pay for food of this quality. My ticket with tax and tip was about $15. I'll return if I pass through here again. I still want to try the chilli rellenos.
This place has great all homemade food Guatemalan style. The staff is very friendly and provide great service. It's definitely a must try. Wish there were more business like this that still take pride and make everything in house.
This restaurant has closed down. The Mexican restaurant that has opened in its place will be reviewed separately.
