Lisboa - Waterbury

The location of the place is not ideal, it feels like you are in a depressed almost abandoned section of town and having the parking lot lined with cement barrier blocks is less than inviting. Even the sign could use some freshening up. The interior feels more like a 80's era bar or pizza joint with lots of tannish yellow wood. But don't be swayed by the appearance of the shabby exterior and dated interior. The food is amazingly flavorful, well balanced, and nicely portioned. The menu is the perfect size and the daily specials are thoughtful. the authentic food more than makes up for the lack of ambience. It is not inexpensive but it is totally worth it.

One of my favorite lunch spots in the Waterbury area. Great friendly service. The food is always very fresh and well prepared. Portuguese cuisine is simple, but they always use high-quality ingredients. My favorite dinner is her Calamari. Always perfectly cooked.

Excellent grilled calamari platter with roasted fresh vegetables and “punched’ potatoes. Food is freshly prepared. Attentive (but not intrusive) waitstaff who provide detailed assistance with menu selections. A very positive culinary experience. You will want to return. Free parking on site. Highly recommend. Five Stars!

Judging from the outside it’s a sketchy looking place in a sketchy neighborhood but as soon as you step inside it has a very nice ambiance.... The Portuguese rolls they brought out was the freshest warmest bread ever!! The shrimp mosenbique was sooooo good!! And the food was delicious… Will definitely be back!! Family style lunch dinner with multiple choices. Quail, ribs, cod, shrimp, steak, lobster, etc. Wait staff was great. Food was OK, but not as good as advertised. Food was pretty bland, but did have some unique flavors. Cappuccino was excellent!

This was not my first visit to Lisboa Restaurant. It certainly won't be my last visit to Lisboa Restaurant. I have never been disappointed with their food. I was there with my daughter for dinner, we did not have a reservation and had to sit at the bar. I'm so glad we did. The ambiance was warm and friendly, the service was fantastic and the food was delicious, as usual. We were told the restaurant area is temporarily closed and they were only serving dinner at the bar. I do hope that the restaurant area re-opens but I did not mind eating at the bar, which is nice and comfortable.
