Yosaku - Washington, D.C.

I hadn't been for ages, due to COVID. I realize now that I should have gone back ages ago! The food is delicious and the service is excellent. I had the bento box lunch with mackerel and enjoyed every bite!

Yosaku has been my family's go-to restaurant for years. We love that there is something for everyone: the meat-eaters, the fish-lover, and the vegetarian. The vegetable sushi dinner, seaweed salads, bean sprouts, agedashi tofu, and teriyaki salmon are particularly delicious. 10/10 recommend! Come support Yosaku!

I?ve been going here for 40 plus years. And tonight was the first time that I?ve been just been disappointed. Over all the sushi/maki was flavorless. The rainbow roll is now just panko on the inside what are you paying extra for? The spicy double yellowtail had zero spice and was also stuffed with panko and poorly cut fish. Again why are you paying extra for a specialty roll stuffed with panko. I hope they go back to the old ways. But for now, I will take my business

I was hoping to find a gem but unfortunately this was not it. The miso had no flavor and the sushi just tasted stale. I have no clue what was on the roll either.

Reasonable Japanese lunch at $9-12. On Mondays you'll get happy hour price all day, sushi (nigiri) $1 each. Sushi is a bit dry but ok. Shimesaba sushi (mackerel seasoned in vinegar) is my favorite. Nabeyaki udon was great! One of the pitfalls was the bathroom. It was clean but the whole area near bathroom was stinky. Another was that they had hot tea but served us cold water without asking.
