The Wydown - Washington DC

The H St Wydown offers a delightful indoor and outdoor atmosphere. Their coffees and mochas are impressive, and the breakfast menu features a nice selection of options like salmon bowls, sausage and egg biscuit sandwiches, and avocado toast. This combination makes the café worth revisiting! However, to be fair, not everything is five-star quality. The avocado toast, priced at $13.50, doesn't quite live up to that expectation, especially when compared to other avocado toast options around the city. Similarly, while the sausage and egg biscuit sandwich is tasty, it reminds me of a McDonald's version. Nonetheless, the appealing setting, diverse menu, and quality coffee contribute to an overall positive experience.

Wydown embodies the essence of contemporary coffee shop style. Its black and gold decor, floral patterns, and welcoming barista create an inviting atmosphere. Conveniently situated within the Apollo luxury apartments and just a short walk from the Solid State Bookshop, this place is definitely worth returning to frequently!

The baristas were extremely attentive to customers, taking the time to ensure that orders were accurately prepared and seamlessly integrated into their workflow while also engaging in friendly conversation. The atmosphere of the space is really appealing. It's attached to an apartment complex, which provides additional indoor seating that feels warm and inviting. There’s also a decent amount of outdoor seating, but with winter approaching, having the indoor option is definitely a plus.

The Wydown is 100% the coffee shop spot to hit I'm visiting for work, and have popped in more times than I'd like to admit for an iced oat matcha (DELISH). The staff is all so friendly I have to shout out the H St. Icons Ashley and Izzy for being so wonderful. When you go, you HAVE to get the chocolate orange crinkle cookie it's truly the best thing I have ever tasted in a cookie.

Beautiful space. My cappuccino was more like an espresso macchiato size. Loved the iced lavender latte (which is bigger than a European size latte). Not sure how it works with the seating in the appartement open space area of the building.
