Magic Gourd - Washington DC

The food was great! However, on the day we visited, the entire restaurant seemed to have only one waitress and two runners. It was tough for the waitress, as she had to handle everything from serving food to taking orders, bringing drinks, and setting tables. We were in a hurry and almost considered canceling our order. Thankfully, the waitress sprang into action! Our food was served at lightning speed and, to our surprise, it was of excellent quality. My parents have been asking to return ever since!

I visited this restaurant before a show at the Kennedy Center. The interior feels a bit outdated, but the food is excellent. Service was fairly quick, and there was plenty to choose from. We ordered pork dumplings, crab Rangoon, Mongolian beef, triple delight, Thai basil chicken, and boiled fish. Everything was really delicious. I just wish I lived closer to DC because this would definitely be a regular spot for me!

The staff here is incredibly friendly! While the food wasn't exceptional, it was tasty and reasonably priced compared to other places nearby. They recently introduced a nice lunch special that I recommend asking about if you're in the area and looking for a quick, affordable, and satisfying meal.

Mapo Tofu is authentic. Ginger, garlic, scallions and doubanjiang. Angry red chillies swimming in red broth. Delicious.

Friendly staff and very good food. My default option for chinese food in DC now.
