Bidrage med feedbackService 3 stars- rarely came back to check on us. Had to leave the table twice to request items. Steak and eggs 4 stars- steak was great, one egg over done, one egg under done. Not sure how they accomplished that. Smoked pastrami hash 4 stars- meh, needed tabasco to have any flavor, mushy texture. Looked like canned hash does. Omelette 4 stars- over done and dry, but looked nice! Biscuits and gravy 5 stars- guys flavor, favorite of the day. Best part was the bagel
Ambiance was hotel generic. I think I should have moved on and not ordered after receiving brown lemon and lime wedges with my sparkling water. And not brown on the skin. I am talking brown on the inside. Food was extremely overpriced for the quality. Extremely! Chicken Caesar was dry and chewy. For a $22 salad it should have wowed me?.but no. Recently my wife and I decided to do what we don’t do often enough, and not many places in the area offer – Tea Time. Yes the Tea and Crumpets scene. We’ve enjoyed fine tea times from the Ritz to Mayflower, but found the Juniper’s restaurant offering at the Fairmont Hotel now a favorite. Their varied offerings of mini sandwiches, teas, attention to detail and elegance enthralling. Their use of fruits and other ingredients are fresh and unique, including their very own fresh honey from a roof top beehive! The environs of their outdoor English-style patio courtyard lends a relaxing mood to the spacious yet comforting seating area inside – we’re going back in the spring to enjoy the outside seating. A formal/informal style, just like sitting in a British estate’s sitting room. Oh, did I mention and incredible, well-versed, knowledgeable and charismatic tea sommelier to boot! Edwin Vargas a sommelier-extraodinaire’s attention alone is worth the visit. A must try whether a seasoned tea timer or a newbie.
My husband and I went for brunch even though we didn't stay at the hotel. It is located inside the Fairmont Hotel, and when you enter the hotel go toward the left of the lobby to get to the restaurant. You may be able to find street parking but if not, you can valet in the hotel garage for $20. The brunch/breakfast buffet is extensive and even available during weekdays. They have scrambled eggs on the buffet or you can order any type of egg preparation for no extra charge. The buffet also had fruit, charcuterie meat and cheeses, sausages, bacon, home fries, yogurt, juices, granola, bagels, waffles, muffins, lox and pastries. All of the condiments were in individual mini glass jars. Bring your appetite. It cost just over $30/per person and it includes beverages of coffee, tea, milk, juice, etc.
I just recently stayed at the Fairmont, which was WONDERFUL, and ate at this restaurant a couple of times for breakfast. They have the most incredible Crab Cake Benedict and Banana Foster waffles that we had for desserts because we just couldn't decide what to order. Everything looked so good! However, the highlight of our experience was our waiter, Oscar. He was incredible and made dining there more than just a meal. Best of all, they serve mimosas, giving several champagne options!
