Makan - Washington

Great food, exceptional experience, highly recommended. Food was delicious and we even had leftovers, though we only ordered 1 appetizer 2 entrees. The fried chicken was so good!! I'd go back just for that. Drinks were interesting and even though we ended up with the wrong one, our server did a great job of fixing that for us!

This restaurant has been on my list for quite some time now especially since its been added to Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand for 2021. The DMV has been missing a quality Malaysian place since Penang closed in Bethesda years ago. I made reservations earlier in the week for a large party. Due to the new DC covid restrictions you do have to show your ID and vaccine card when dining here. Some of the dishes we ordered were Char Kway Teow, eggplant, chicken/tofu satay, Nasi

Came here for dinner with a friend. Great food and good value. Service was super friendly and efficient. The restaurant is well decorated and a great atmosphere for a Saturday dinner. I got the chicken coconut curry noodles and they were delicious and too pretty to eat. The presentation at Makan is impeccable.

Scrumptious Malay food in a comfortable heated outdoor space. Especially good for brunch ? the Penang Street Noodles are a must order. While ingredients are super fresh and tasty, the food could be a bit more flavorful. But ask for some extra chili to spice up your meal and problem solved!

I enjoyed my meal at Makan, went with a couple of friends and we shared a few different items. The food was good, I enjoyed the curry beef more than the other dishes. On the flip side, nothing really stood out in terms of flavor, and the food was slightly pricey for the quantity/experience. Regardless, I would recommend a visit.
