Ben's Chili Bowl - Washington

Ben's half smoke, Ben's burger, and the onion rings, and the coleslaw were nice n tasty. The overworked staff worked hard to get everyone's orders out! Management should look into fixing the soda fountain and adequate supply orders (they had run out of rice for the rice bowls due to demand).

7/1/2022 Starting July with new foods in new places. I enjoyed the sandwich but the taste of the chili wins out over the burger. Next time I'll go for the half smoked. The fries were good. I feel like the area is being gentrified so there was an interesting mix of cultures and economics. On my Middle Class Monotony (MCM) scale (0-5 where 0 is NOT cheap or monotonous and 5 being very cheap and monotonous): This is a place for everyone anytime so there is no exclusive nature to it nor is it expensive. So this is a 4 on the MCM scale.

Delicious and filling. Ordered a 'Spicy Half Smoke ', onion rings and a coffee milk shake. The chili had enough zip to make it tasty without burning off the lining of my mouth. The onion rings and shake were equally delicious. Food was delivered to our table quickly and hot. . . . I dont know the history of the two pandas outside the door but they were definitely drawing a number of photo opportunists. :

So the turkey chili was really good!!! The burger was cool and the fries were super. I would give a 5 star BUT my first bowl of beef chili was horrible. It was thick like a gelatin goop/paste and really dark brown with a bad after taste. I talked with the manager and he switched me to the turkey chili. He had someone taste the beef and confirmed it wasn't right. Not sure the reason but he said he was going to scrap the rest. I was there around 6:45 and they close at 8. Kudo's to the manager listening to a customer! Anyway not sure what it usually tastes like but I will stick the the turkey from now on. Teenagers loved the Oreo milkshake

This is an outstanding spot for lunch. I opted for chili fries and a burger, and they were absolutely delicious. The chili had a nice kick to it, which I appreciated since I enjoy spicy food. My husband ordered a chili dog alongside the chili fries and loved them as well. To finish off my meal, I had a vanilla milkshake, and wow! It was the best milkshake I've ever had; it was so thick that my cheeks were sore from trying to slurp it up. Just what you would expect from a fantastic shake. The service was a bit relaxed and slow, but the restaurant was clean and not too crowded, so we didn’t have trouble finding a seat.
