Good value for money. just take short showers, water is gold out there drinking local wine instead of water. it helps the local economy.
Disgusting pub with even more disgusting owners who treat patrons and their staff horribly. Kitchen and bar is full of cockroaches and food is horrible anyway. Stanthorpe is a beautiful town stay, eat and drink anywhere else!!
Hi. We are visiting from Brisbane and staying at a local van park. On Sunday the 1 July we wanted to buy alcohol so called into the Celebrations bottle shop behind Hotel Stanthorpe. We were greeted by the man behind the counter and as we were looking around another customer entered the shop and the two men started telling stories (about how expensive and rude the other bottle shop people around the corner is) in loud voices using foul language. The man behind the counter then started quite openly looking my wife up and down and calling me 'Grandad '. He said 'it 's nice for Grandad to take his grand daughter out ' I didn 't respond and he kept glaring at my wife. We decided to leave with the beer and wine we wanted. He offered to take the beer to the car for 'grandad '. I said I was right with it. He then said to my wife 'it must be nice having a healthy Grandad '. He was laughing at his own words even though he would have known we weren 't enjoying the disrespect and it was thoroughly disgusting way to treat customers. We left without responding and won 't be returning there. If this fellow is the best employee you can find in Stanthorpe, you are in trouble. I will be emailing an official complaint in the next 24 hours also and will be requested to talk with management. Regards, Joe Joyce.
2 sides: the pub and the hotel. The hotel: Super dirty, staff unable to do anything a part of pouring beers or joking with drunk customers, nothing works inside, no kitchen (they only cook burgers for 15$ and no possibility to cook by yourself in a covered or clean place (there are the 4 weeks ago food scrapes in the balcony, on table and on the floor, I think it 's disgusting sharing bathroom is a real shame (it 's actually dirt from 2 weeks , sinks don 't work and they 're full of water after a couple of seconds of water going, one of the two share fridges doesn 't work and the working one is embarassing (bad smell from weeks and alive insects coming away when opened no toilette paper or cleaning service if you don 't insist for them, THEY ASKED CUSTOMERS TO CLEAN AND THROW AWAY GARBAGE FOR THEM... SAYING THAT 'S NOT MY JOB IS THAT A CUSTOMER RESPONSABILITY? DO YOU REALLY THINK PEOPLE PAY ROOM RENTS TO CLEAN AT YOUR PLACE? Everybody are too lazy to take care about the hotel, the real business is The pub: in fact, they keep loud music untill late night, they probably forgot people paid to sleep in their place. THEY DON 'T ACCEPT ROOM PAYMENTS WITH EFTPOS OR ANY CARD, ONLY CASH IN HAND. NOT SURE IF THEY ARE AUTHORIZED TO HAVE THE HOTEL BUSINESS. NOT SURE IF THEY 'RE COMPLETELY LEGAL. Every day people complain for something, many people escaped after just a night or a couple of days because of dodgy service. Prices are medium, high for the offered quality, hope for an improvement in future. A unique positive note: the once/week cleaner is very professional and quick with her job, she knows how to clean and tidy rooms and areas. Unfortunately she doesn 't have superpowers, that 's a management leak. A tip? Keep going with the pub, it 's everytime full, but forget about hotel and accomodations, that 's not your job. I 'm not saying everything because I 'm not evil, but I believe you should think what you 're doing. Customers are NOT animals. Cheers
