Culcheth Arms - Warrington

Nice ambiance incl log fire. Friendly waitress. Food awful. Especially the 3 covers cauliflower curry, which had to be sent back because food too cold. Even then the cauliflower was dry, hard and tasteless.

Called in for a snack. Told they don’t serve sandwiches on a Sunday. Ordered a rustic pizza and chips. We left half the pizza it was very doughy and topping watery. We told the waitress who came back for plates, she said she would pass information on to kitchen. No one came back. We also told the lady we paid, who didn’t apologise just took our money. Very disappointed. Would definitely not recommend to anyone.

Came here with my family for a Mothers Day meal, with high expectations, after seeing good reviews. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!! Service was Terrible! Upon arrival (we had a table booked for 3pm) we were told to order drinks at the bar, as the table needed to be cleaned and would be ready in a few minutes. We ordered our drinks (rude bar staff) and got taken to our table around 3:10. We then ordered our food pretty quickly after. It then took around 50 minutes for the starters to be brought out to us. And then waited a further 30 minutes from our starters being taken away until we received our mains. The food was as terrible as the service! No taste or flavour and the Yorkshire puddings were more like flat pancakes! Overall, the staff were rude and unprofessional, the service was appalling (it wasn’t that busy with plenty of staff- a lot of the time the staff were just standing around). The food matched the standard of the experience. Would not be returning again and will certainly not be recommending!

Sevenof us went for Mother's Day. Table booked for 2PM place didn't seem particularly busy. After waiting 1 hour with no food appearing and no explanation for the delay asked staff member what the problem was they informed they had been busy and were a staff member down. We were advised food would be with us shortly. Twenty minutes later we once again asked how long food was going to be and were informed there were two other tables to be served before us then we would receive our food. We did point out that both these tables arrived some time after us so we could not understand why they were to receive their food before us?!? This was now 1hr 20 mins after our booking time and was unacceptable especially as our 93 year old Mother was with us! Our food did eventually arrive and they deducted 30% off the bill but this was not how I envisaged spending Mother's Day and wasn't the best experience for Mum who had waited far too long for her meal so wasn't really in the mood for it when it eventually arrived!! Have to say after such a poor experience don't think I will be visiting again!!

What a lovely pub, very welcoming and the Sunday dinners are scrumptious! The staff are very attentive and super friendly. The pub is dog friendly so you always have a little pooch around too! Couldn’t recommend enough, we have visited numerous times and always had a fab experience.
