Bidrage med feedbackI just moved into this area in August from Noblesville, and I googled grub in my area and saw the add, went in and OHMAGAWD!!! Was so good, I had to stop and call them to tell them how good just by stopping to taste it at a red light on the way home. I went in there and saw $7.50 (they do that on Tuesday Thursdays it looks like) for a main and two sides. I went crazy and ordered three plates. I got the baked chicken with cabbage and mac cheese. I got rib tips with stuffing and sweet potatos and i got the liver/gravy with stuffing and green beens and it was all really good. This is likely to become one of my go tos. (disclaimer i copy pasted my review from what I wrote on their fb page because I'm lazy but not to lazy to make sure I got these folks a review here too they are worth it)
Special. Food was amazing the atmosphere was also nice. I tried a the catfish and pulled chicken. Taste like your grandma's food!
This place is the definition of hole in the wall but the food is great! Decent places to sit down and eat in the back, but I get the feeling this is better as a grab and go type joint. Pick up some barbecue, grab a beer, sit down on your patio and enjoy. People are friendly there
I attended a Yelp Elite event here a year or so ago, and really liked the food and friendly service. I happened to be in the area today so I thought I would stop by for lunch. I really love the macaroni and cheese so I chose that again today. I was hoping to get some green beans but they weren't on the menu today. This was Friday and fish was the special. The menu changes daily. I haven't tried the desserts yet but they look excellent. Reasonable prices and generous portions. You won't go away hungry.
Pa Ma's Backyard BBQ used to be near 27th Rader. Then you could find them at the American Legion Post 249 near 25th Dr. MLK and now Pa Ma's Backyard BBQ is located at the corner of Fairfield College Avenue not too far from the Indiana State Fairgrounds. They are in the building that used to house Big Fella's soul food restaurant. If you know the area it used to be busy with a funeral home (still there), Walgreens at 38th College (now gone), grocery store Fairfield wraps into 34th Street (7/11, double 8 now gone), barbershop, etc. I used to check them out at the American Legion when I didn't feel like cooking and I wanted more than the usual fast food fare. They never really had a set menu and that was cool with me because I usually couldn't tell you what I wanted for dinner at that moment when I decided on Pa Ma's. They have what they call a visual menu. You see everything and pick what you want to eat. Super simple, super easy...it works well. On the night we decided to check them out, it was too late to make the soul food dinner I was planning on so heading home Pa Ma's was on the way home. We hadn't seen them since they had moved from the Legion building so it was like catching up with old friends. After deciding on perch, broccoli cheese, mixed greens, and peach cobbler, I was good to go. Got home, the food was still hot (I use a cooler to keep my food warm) and pretty darn good. I used to wait for hot fish at their old location and that is the only thing I would change about this meal and get it as it is coming out of the fryer. I can't wait to see what they have planned for the summer months in this new location.
