The Royal Inn - Waratah

I eat lunch here at least once a month with a group of other women. There is a blackboard menu with specials and a regular menu. I usually eat from the regular menu. There is always a lot of choice and great service. It's best to phone in a booking. The restaurant is smallish but there is an excellent parking lot.

As others have noted this restaurant is in Waratah NSW, not Tassie.We often visit mid week for the $10 lunch menu. The menu offers a good range of choices, and service is good. There is some variability in the meals, but generally everyone is happy and the $10 menu represents good value. Restaurant is small, so bookings are recommended. Remember it is a pub, so orders and payments are made at the counter, however meals are served to the table.

This is my local NSW not Tassie!!!! Always receive great service love the $10 lunch deals and we visit here at least once a month when cannot be bothered cooking. Have never had a bad meal well considering this is pub grub - pizzas are always amazing!! We literally keep going back because nice atmosphere, great service, just down the road and bonus our uni student son gets two chicken snitties one with gravy and the royal special for $20 with his uni student card, apparently very normal for uni male students!!! Always busy so maybe a good sign? Shop a docket makes this a value for money family meal outing.

I haven't been to The Royal for a few years and I was very surprised. We had dinner here after a Knights game and the staff were very friendly and the food was very good. Next time I will be back to have a pizza as the woodfire as the couple next to us had one and it looked amazing.

Same old menu,same old staff,average food,average serviceWhy pay to have someone's bum on your table while they are lined up to order, then an hour wait to get your entree only to have it tipped in your lap by the cook. Then wrong mains brought out. Poor waitress probably first shift alone trying to take orders, serve at the bar & bring out the meals nearly in tears. Expect a little better even from a bistro that takes shopper dockets. We will give it a miss for a while
