Ok I Wong's Chinese Take Away

I have visited several Chinese takeout restaurants in Geelong, and I have to say that Oki is definitely the best.

I often have a craving for a hot and colorful variety of Chinese food. The service is friendly and fast, and the home delivery is prompt and arrives steaming hot.

Rang and had our meal. Delivered very promptly. Food delicious. Very impressed by their service and food.

We decided on getting some take out one night in Geelong as we had a late night craving. My wife and I ordered a small fried rice and a roast pork noodle with Szechuan sauce. We also ordered some shrimp spring rolls.The positives, we ordered the food through Menulog, and despite being informed that the order would get there in an hour, the food arrived in half that time. The service was friendly and couldn't be faulted. The food portion was very small. The rice was tiny. The pork in the noodles was rather dry. The portion of noodles noodles was generous. The spring rolls didn't taste quite right. Not sure what it was, but we didn't finish them.The food wasn't great, but I have to say, the service was fantastic.

I've never had cause to review a restaurant ever. I won't do it often, but at times an experience warrants commentary.First, have eaten here before without worry. Secondly, to protect the innocent, the delivery was lovely and not at all at fault.Rather than go on too much-- 2 hour delivery time.- 'chicken' balls lacked 'chicken'. Batter balls was probably more appropriate.- Given the 2 hour delivery time, i suppose expecting at least warm food was a little much.- Grease poured out of bag and onto couch-leather, no harm done.- Phoned restaurant twice. Second time the 'chef' claimed it wasn't his fault because they were busy. Said it was Menulog's problem.Bottom line. The food is usually ok here. DON'T get home delivery. Honestly, I think we're done with OK I Wong. Shame. Too many good restaurants in Belmont/Geelong to bother to risk the hit or miss nature of this place.
