Had an excellent experience in sandflames. Very friendly staff mr Noman gave us the experience that we want to visit again and again!
Right, where do I even start. For context, the occasion was for a birthday surprise, there were 15 of us, all of whom were fasting. There were already two people waiting at the restaurant before we all got there and everything was pre-ordered via telephone so the food could be given out before iftar. Once we had all arrived , which had been maybe 2/3 minutes after iftar which was at 7:39 on this day, we were only given our mock tails but no food , nothing to even break our fasts with. After a group of us went to pray Maghrib, maybe 15 minutes later, the staff began handing out a few orders. I had received my main before my starter whilst other had received either their starter or no food at all. Two individuals waited 1 hour for their main to be handed to them whilst being seated right underneath a boiling hot heater which we had already asked to be switched off 3 times before someone actually turned it off, it literally felt like we were being cooked alive. After everything had eventually been handed out and we had all finished our meals, the staff began handing out free deserts as a way of apologising for the horrible service and extra long wait. I looked at my friend in front of me and said ‘desert is not going to make up for the wait’, and the waiter who was standing behind me had the audacity to say ‘it’s the best we can do’. The best you can do is actually verbally apologise instead of handing us dry desert that’s been sitting outside for the whole day or just do your job and resist answering back to a comment I was making to my friend. The whole night was a shambles and the staff were not communicating or working as a team at all, there were a number of times where the staff would bring out drinks or a dish without knowing we had already been served, so I can only imagine how much food they wasted. Overall it was a pretty rubbish experience, yet another lounge which is purely there for aesthetic (barely) and lacking in food quality. Honestly do better and stop robbing peoples money for poor service and poor food. Close your store down and let another restaurant who’s willing to actually do their jobs properly take your place.
Disgusting behaviour from staff. Served foul-smelling rancid rice, then proceeded to say there was nothing wrong with the rice and that their rice was very famous in London (what planet you on). I advised that this is a serious matter as rice can be very detrimental to the health; the waiter just shrugged it off. I have reported you to London environmental health. So if you were there on the 14th of Jan and had rice and you had bad tummy pains or other health issues, this is why. Also, very unprofessional staff, as was in a corner gathered smoking cigarettes.
Great atmosphere, greated at the door by Mo and taken to our table. Their menu choice and shishas are amazing. We had a great time and were looked after by Mo throughout our stay. Would highly recommend and definitely will be going back!
