The King Arthur - Walsall

I visited this restaurant in the early evening of March 15, 2023. I haven't been here in 20 years, but now it is a Pub and Grill owned by Asians. The service was good and our meal was served within 15 minutes. The staff was attentive. I ordered an excellent medium mixed grill and lamb curry, along with 2 pints of Stella for my friend, who was jealous of my mixed grill when it arrived. I thought it could use a bit more spice or coriander, but otherwise it was perfect. I am surprised by some negative reviews, and can only assume that some people are hard to please or they may be coming from competitors. The menu is reasonably priced as well. I will definitely be coming back.

I just ordered takeout from this restaurant. The food was delicious. I have dined here several times before but never left a review, so I think it is long overdue. The staff was friendly, the beer was good, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Overall, the food was very good.

The mixed grill we ordered was fantastic and really delicious. However, we were disappointed with the late arrival of our main dishes, especially the lamb madras. Unlike any madras I've had before, this version lacked the tomato-based sauce that usually defines the dish. The excessive amount of salt in the curry was the biggest issue, with the first dish being nearly inedible due to the overwhelming saltiness. Despite requesting a replacement, the second dish also suffered from excessive salt, although slightly less than the first. It was a shame to end the otherwise enjoyable evening on a disappointing note with an inedible curry.

Well I can’t actually review my visit because they refused to take my booking over the phone. Apparently they only take bookings for 6 people or more. Just thought I’d let everyone know. Oh well. We will go to the Kajal which is nearby. They are happy to take bookings for any number of people.

Tried for first time as live near by had a mixed grill to take away very very greasy and salty had a very upset stomach and spent most of next day on toilet not good at all I’ll stick to my regular place from now on .
