Kaiwa Sushi - Walnut Creek

Had a mediocre experience at best. Went for dinner on a Saturday night and there were three large parties treating their dinner like a party. Looked like a bachelor party, girls ' night out and a large group of friends. Needless to say, the volume was more than expected. More importantly, the food was just okay. We finished most of what we ordered but will look for better sushi options. On the bright side, service was quite pleasant.

This is our go to place for sushi! Over the years friends have suggested other places and have dragged us along but we haven 't found another that 's better. Their rolls are amazing and as a friend said Friday night during their first visit, They even fit in your mouth! Our favs are Hippy, Locust, Van, Vy and Nam 1. My husband calls Kanigi Nigiri 'dessert. ' Sometimes we 're there 2x a month and we end up ordering the same ones you just can 't get tired of eating great sushi!

We have been eating at Kaiwa for almost 20 years, often twice a month. Kaiwa is not the fanciest restaurant in town but the sushi is always fresh, the rolls are delicious, the staff is very efficient and friendly, and it's very reasonably priced!

The service was friendly, prompt and efficient. The happy hour specials were great and our rolls were delicious!!!

They don't have enough stars for this restaurant! I had many requests as it was a birthday dinner for my date. They were so welcoming, so accommodating, and executed everything perfectly. The server was wonderful: prompt, helpful, but gave us space too. It's the best salmon teriyaki I've ever had. The seven dollar glass of Chardonnay and the reasonably priced food is such a welcome change. We will be back!
