Babushka - Walnut Creek

Eating is 5 stars, service was a bit slow/inexperienced, but she tries.

Babushka is a very Russian restaurant. that eat is delicious, and after my Russian hospitable, authentic. a very pleasant surprise is the wine and beer list, all from Eastern Europe, and beautifully selected. I had a Pinot Noir-like wee from Georgia, and my companion had beer from the Czech Republic. both were excellent (of course we tasted the drinks.) the server were young Eastern European women who are happy and helpful. Maybe because we have densed on a Saturday night, the restaurant felt a bit undere. but these young women tried hard, so full of tracks for them. the ambiente was perhaps too Russian. the lights were as bright as an operating theatre, and the noise reached arena levels. we plan to go back to a week at night, but not much will help the light level.

Food was fantastic but waitress was young and extremely inattentive. Service was extremely slow but I think it was just due to her inexperience because we have eaten there before and found the meal to be more appropriately paced. Would definitely go back as it is a lovely place great for conversation with friends.

My man and I love this restaurant! the service is always so friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, without being intrusive. our server, varvara, we love! it is so nice, funny and always has great information about the menu and the weep. the ambiente is very romantic and we can actually conduct a conversation in normal voting. this is one of our favorite places to dinate!
