Costa Coffee Wakefield

Absolutely unacceptable! We were in Wakefield celebrating a family member's birthday, who is in a wheelchair. One of our group members tried to open the doors but didn't know how, so he asked for assistance. Instead of helping, we were told it couldn't happen. As a result, we decided to go to a much more welcoming and accommodating café down the road.

I only ordered a cup of tea while waiting for my train. The service was friendly, but everything else was typical of Costa - which I'm not a fan of and never will be. It's just not to my taste.

The service I received this morning at Asda Costa in Durker was absolutely terrible. I went in with my daughter and the young girl who was serving us was too busy chatting with her colleagues to take payment for my daughter's juice. I paid for a few items and when I realized the juice wasn't included, I went back and explained. The young girl asked me to take the juice without charging me. Later, my husband told me that the staff were gossiping about me and accusing me of not paying for the juice. This was very unprofessional and disrespectful. I confronted the staff about their incompetent service and decided to leave the coffee and food I had ordered. Despite this, I paid for the juice that had been forgotten. Another customer even approached me to say they would make a complaint about the unprofessionalism of the staff. As a cafe owner myself, I know how important it is to have responsible and respectful staff. I believe they need an adult in charge and I will not be returning to this establishment.

Well this is my second visit to a local costa in a month, the first Barnsley, today Wakefield. I have to say I am unimpressed with the cleanliness of all areas, especially tables in the restaurant and toilet downstairs as well as stairs up to toilet upstairs. It’s literally filthy. I went to upstairs toilet as downstairs disabled toilet was disgusting. The tables clearly never get wiped. Costa is really going down in my opinion. It will be a long time before I ever visit again.
