Bidrage med feedbackI have passed by this tea shop many times and always thought I should try it out. After finally visiting for the first time yesterday, I am so glad I did. I must admit, I had low expectations when I first walked in, but I was pleasantly surprised. The attention to detail and genuine charm of this little tea shop was truly impressive. From the carefully curated decorations to the vintage reading material on each table, it was clear that a lot of thought and effort went into creating this special place. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this tea shop for anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable escape. I will definitely be back.
My husband and I visited this cafe on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The cafe had lovely decor with thoughtful displays. Unfortunately, the man at the front of the house was preoccupied with his phone, causing a delay in taking our order for 2 soups and a sandwich. It took a while for our tea to arrive, and when the food did come, we only received one soup and the sandwich. We didn't have time to wait for the second soup, which also appeared on the bill. The food itself was good, but the service was lacking professionalism. It seemed the kitchen was upstairs, so a tray may have been helpful in transporting the food. We noticed that we weren't the only ones experiencing poor service, as a family of four also left after their order wasn't taken.
After hearing positive reviews from my family, my partner and I decided to visit this restaurant for afternoon tea. We found it to be a great value for the money, with a peaceful and interesting atmosphere, excellent service, and beautiful food. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Thought I would try this teashop as.the name sounded inviting .I wasn't sure what to expect at first...many places I have visited with high hopes have been so disappointing ! Upon entering Bygone Days, I knew I was in for a very different experience. Clearly a lot of thought has gone into this venture . I was greeted front of house by the proprietor, suitably dressed in 1940s attire, then shown to my choice of table . The menu choice is themed to 1940's food . I chose the Noel Coward Afternoon Tea for one at £8.95 . This consisted of my choice of sandwiches, together with a huge scone with jam and clotted cream, a slice of cake and pot of Yorkshire Tea, with its own knitted tea cosy ! The portions were very generous, and well presented on cake stands of the era. Alternative afternoon teas included the Vera Lynn at £7.95, and Tea for Two in 1942, at £9.95. My partner chose the Eggs Royale,...lightly toasted muffins with poached eggs , smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce at a mere £3.75. Both meals were delicious. The teashop was decorated 1940's style, with posters of the era on all walls, and the 1940's Big Band sounds playing on the radio in the background. This, together with embroidered tablecloths, and a wide range of memorabilia for sale made for a very relaxing and enjoyable afternoon . I shall certainly be going again !
