Bidrage med feedbackMy family and I took a drive around the island from our hotel in Kahana and to the west side of Maui. We wanted yo find a place to eat lunch and saw on Yelp Cafe O' Lei at the Plantation. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised how beautiful the area was. We had a 20 min wait for brunch so walked around the grounds. It was a plantation in the 1800's, they harvested pineapple and sugarcane. I loved the grounds because they had old machinery parts throughout the property which made it a unique setting. The food and service was great. Definitely a great place to visit.
Pretty good place. Minus the reception if you're looking for a place to sit and work. Came here wed afternoon around 11AM. Short waiting for the tables but bar area is open. Not much plug ins but our bartender was awesome. Ordered the bao, poke nacho, and papaya salad. Would order all again. Bao is a hit or miss! This time it wasnt over cooked and was able to get extra pickled vegetables on top. The papaya was so good! Would get again! The poke ceviche was good, note: eat WITH nachos, otherwise too salty. Drinks aren't strong at all, if anything, on the weaker side. She accommodated for a lilikoi maragrita- yum! Ended lunch with the lilikoi cheesecake- YES. tarty and not sweet. Bill came out to about $120.
We had lunch here and really enjoyed the pleasant surroundings. The onion soup was very good. The mahi mahi fish and chips were good but I like a less doughy type breading. Service was fine, it was not a super busy day. Gift shop had lots of items including lovely fruits and vegetables.
We enjoyed our visit here. But I confess- we didn't even really come for the food. The grounds here and resulting ambiance are beautiful. It's just a great place to sit back and relax and enjoy a good meal. So, while we didn't come for the food, the food was also pretty good. They do very well executed, maybe a bit pricey, dishes. Not special- but the entire experience makes it worth it. Overall, we had a very nice time here.
The ambiance was fantastic, the service for our drinks I had to remind the server twice about my coffee and for a refill but my family members mimosa came right out. I can only comment on what I eat, the loco moco patty was a little dry for my taste but my family members said there food was great.
