Bidrage med feedbackMenu ****. Only 4 mains and entrees to choose from. NOT value for money, chicken breast I could have cooked at home, no sauce. My husbands meal the same. Over priced. Advertised on web site all day menu which was better but when I asked for it, it wasn't available. False advertising. At least the cocktails were good but my husbands choice of beer was not available. Oak Room at the Townhouse far better but it was booked out. Don't even bother with this restaurant.
There is a bit more competition in Wagga these days for your eating dollar. Been here a bit in the past and unfortunately could not get into the Townhouse Restaurant- it was fully booked- as was the hotel so chose to come here.It goes to show a full hotel does not mean a lively restaurant with a solid restaurant booking and buzz - if the restaurant hasn't been performing - whilst other establishments were booming this was absolutely dead with NO atmosphere whatsoever and VCOLD and uninviting. So much for SALA being a top restaurant......Anyway positives cold beer and a great wine list. The duck breast I had was well cooked but the skin was still v fatty and not crispy the rice was over cooked and didn't look fresh at all as were the Asian greens - where's the sauce - the whole dish lacked sauce flavour and seasoning - not that the waitress actually even cared if we wanted salt or griund pepper at all! The chicken dish my business associate had was dry and over cooked with no sauce or anything really to balance this out. French Fries are so 80's move with the times but they can be good IF cooked to hit the table when the food is ready not 10minutes before- as they go cold in less than 5 mins with no heat lamp to maintain any heat at all.Would not be back as there are a lot of quality in Wagga now - need to lift your game SALA.
It's a difficult place to score. The food is good and hard to fault. Some really good fresh flavours all well presented. The price, service and the ambience really lets this place down though. The entrees especially are expensive for little bite size pieces. Mains reasonably priced but add on vegies were the main let down for food quality. It's hard to get a drink and although the venue itself is quite good, something better than commercial radio could be used for background noise.
The food is fine dining prices but without the finesse of a fine dining chef! Expensive and interesting but generally doesn't quite work. Tiny portions that mean you are still hungry when you leave. I'm not a big eater so if you are you won't be happy.Service was good and the area is interesting in decor.
I stayed here for a few weeks and ate a lot of dishes from the menu, I was not impressed with any of the meals, the staff are friendly but the food is disappointing. The room I stayed in had some issues also, air con leaking for example. This is not a 4 or 5 star hotel.
