Bidrage med feedbackOne of us wanted typical Montreal Vietnamese fair, complete with saucy main course and fried appetizer. The other wanted something warm and healthy. Saigon VIP provided both superbly. We compromised on the fried spring rolls and got fresh shrimp rolls instead. His coconut-based soup and sweet salad hit his spot whilst the Thai noodles hit mine.
Another place we have been going for awhile, fast service ,lots of choices for soups and noodle dishes, cold shrimp rolls are a must and fried dumplings,so good..Soups come in all sizes XL is a real large bowl and the prices are reasonable in fact worth it.
Wednesday noon, rue Sainte-Catherine ouest, my wife and I only wanted a soup. It's not the restaurants that miss. nor the usual banal soups that are found in it if you are looking for a small price.More or less by chance (or rather by eliminating other places), we enter the saaigon vip. the menu has taken our attention by choosing soups and salads, a little more lit than elsewhere. There are soups of the type "entrance", that is, in a small bowl and "soupes-repas" declined in small, medium or large portion. My wife was not disappointed with the shrimp tom-yum soup or me with the tokin soup with "vegetarian" content but with chicken broth. At noon, the restaurant was almost deserted, but at noon thirty it was almost filled, largely by regulars, we were able to see. service was quick, discreet and efficient.
I LOVE their VIP Laksa and the bun bo hue! When I want a good, hearty soup, I always come here. I first tried Laksa here, I didn't even realize it was a soup when I ordered but I fell in love! I've had it elsewhere and well, let's be honest, Laksa is just a go-to dish anywhere you go. But I still dream of their VIP Laksa. What's with the pho craze? Love it But there are so many other soups that are just So much better. And thus far, Saigon VIP does it best
I ate at this restaurant:- pho tai- laksa- vietnamese coffeepho wasnt pho taste at all, kind of water soup, the noodle wasnt good too, and the meat not good too. i ate 25% of the pho (the xl size one) and let it like that, i couldnt eat more, really its not pho taste at all, its not good.laksa also isnt laksa taste, the soup taste also like water, the noodle wasnt the one we usually use for laksa from malaysia, maybe this its laksa of china?? vietnamese coffee not good too, not real vietnamese coffee i use to drink in asia.so they put authentic food on the board outside, LIE! its not authentic at all.by the way the staff is okay. but food i ate is not good. i dont feel to try other food, so feel free to say how are the other dishes but me I will never go back again, just waste my money.thanks.
